In this short book Joel outlines his high level process to build a program from the starting point of taking on a new athlete. 

Athlete development pathways are outlined to know the starting point and the steps an athlete may need to take. The first steps of assessment of the athletes qualities, into building the season plan design, into the long term planning for the athlete. 

Practical planning templates are illustrated including the various micro-cycle templates Joel uses with his top athletes, and the differences in planning for different stages of athlete development.
